TSH or Thyroid Stimulating Hormone is a peptide hormone secreted by the pituitary gland into the blood. The main reason for the production of TSH in the TSH range is to balance the body’s thyroid levels. TSH is the key to the mechanism of production of Thyroid hormones. Only, when this TSH reaches the Thyroid gland (butterfly-shaped gland present at the base of the neck) it starts the manufacture of two most important hormones known as T3 and T4. TSH Range During Pregnancy
The TSH range varies greatly during pregnancy. It changes every 3 months which is one trimester.

- In the Second trimester, when a pregnant lady goes for TSH thyroid test the TSH range is 0.3‑4.6 mIU/L.
- Whereas when the Third trimester approaches the TSH levels to shift in the range of 0.8‑5.2 mIU/L.
High TSH Range
- If the TSH level peaks the normal lab values and reaches an abnormal TSH level then it is said to be high TSH levels.
- Hypothyroidism is diagnosed with TSH levels high.
Low TSH Levels
- When the TSH low below the lower end of the TSH range, we call it Low TSH levels.
